A District 150 middle school will offer an International Baccalaureate program to students starting this fall.
Sterling Middle School was officially authorized for the IB program Thursday for a three-year ‘Middle Years Programme’.
It’s the only Illinois middle school outside Chicago to offer the program. The IB program does not change the Sterling school curriculum. It instead helps students develop communications, intercultural understanding and creative thinking skills.
Mark Bills, Charter Oak Primary, and Trewyn schools all have IB authorization meetings scheduled for the coming months.
