About 300 Ameren customers in downtown Peoria will be in the dark early Sunday morning as the company makes infrastructure upgrades.
The upgrades are part of a seven-million dollar project to improve the reliability and performance of Ameren’s energy system.
The company began notifying businesses impacted in the area earlier this week. Efforts to contact other residential customers started Thursday.
An Ameren statement says the company doesn’t notify the media or post public messages of planned outages to ensure the privacy, safety and security of customers.
