Kenyan specialty crops to be featured at East Peoria Farmers Market

CHJ Umoja Garden Facebook page

A unique vendor is being featured at East Peoria’s Farmers Market this summer. This is the third year the market is open in the Levee District, featuring local produce as well as entertainment.

This year a Kenyan-born vendor is featuring specialty crops from her home country. Janet Zintambila of CHJ Umoja Garden in Normal will have organic amaranth, white maize, and six varieties of sweet potatoes on hand.

The Farmers Market is open from 3 until 6:30 Friday evening.
