LaHood goes to work for CAT

Former US Transportation Secretary and Peoria Congressman Ray LaHood has taken a contract with Caterpillar for consulting services.

LaHood retired from the Obama administration last year and said he would lecture at Bradley University, work with Chicago Law Firm DLA Piper and also the Dirksen Congressional Center in Pekin.

Molly Donahue is with Caterpillar. She says LaHood’s role with the company is to provide advice on policy matters.

A statement from the company says LaHood will assist on strategies and solutions to policy and communication challenges in the increasingly complex political and business environment. Caterpillar also plans to benefit from LaHood’s expertise in transportation planning and investment.
