Peoria police: alleged shooter turned himself in

Peoria police

The man believed to be responsible for the shooting death of 22-year old Derrick Booth Jr. has turned himself in.

Booth was the son of Manual Academy basketball coach Derrick Booth Sr and the stepson of Democratic Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth. He was pronounced dead early Saturday with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police believe 37-year old Sean Walls is responsible. He turned himself in to police around 3:00 Monday afternoon.

A statement from the police department says the investigation continues and anyone with additional information is asked to call the agency or Crimestoppers.
