Up to 200-thousand people are expected to attend the 28th annual Red White and BOOM fireworks display in Peoria and East Peoria. The two cities, UnityPoint Health Methodist-Proctor, and JMP Integrated Media host the 100-thousand dollar firework production.
Randy Rundle is the Operations Manager with JMP. He says the nearly 30-minute fireworks celebration continues to be the biggest show in Illinois.
“When you can actually deliver on what you are promising as the biggest show, as the most extensive show, as using the most shells in the show, the biggest monetary value in a show, we’re putting our money basically where our mouth is here. And we are providing truly something that you are not going to find anywhere else in the state of Illinois,” says Rundle.
Rundle says more than 3,000 shells a minute are used over the course of the fireworks production. He says the event draws thousands of people from all over the Midwest. The Fourth of July weekend will also feature Eddie Money playing at Festival Park on the riverfront July 5th. More information is available at redwhiteandcoom.us.
