The Peoria County State’s Attorney will not charge the author of a parody Twitter account about Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis. Jerry Brady says that 28-year-old Jon Daniel will not be charged following a Peoria Police raid of the property where the account was thought to be operating.
Law enforcement officials say the owner of the content allegedly committed the crime of false personation of a public official. But Brady says the charge is only relevant if the crime was done in person, not over the Internet.
Brady says his office is still reviewing if any charges will be brought against 26-year old Jacob Elliot, who was arrested for possessing pot in the raid.
