‘Change 150’ group targets third district school board race

A community group aiming to oust a current district 150 school board member says the move is needed to improve the district.  The Change 150 group is backing Sue Wolstenholm for the 3rd District seat, even though she plans to resign if elected.  That's because Wolstenholm’s name was already on the ballad when she decided to get out of the race against incumbent Laura Petelle.  Sea Stipe is with Change 150.  He says they group is campaigning to send the school board and administration a message:

“This is about believing that there needs to be a change in the direction of District 150, and so as an organization we are committed to not just this election, but to the future.”

The school board would have to appoint someone to fill the remaining district 3 term if Petelle is unseated.  Change 150 is also working with community groups to flesh out more priorities they have for the district.  The group was formed following public concern over the district’s handling of alleged cheating at Charter Oak Primary school.  But Sea says the group is focused on changing both the leadership and the culture for the entire district.
