Scattered slick patches could prove troublesome

nytimes.com

While temperatures are well above freezing in the day time making for wet and slushy roads, overnight and early morning hours could still provide some slick conditions for the next several days.
Trooper Dustin Pierce is the spokesman for Illinois State Police District 8. He says motorists could still see some occasional slick conditions.

“With the temperatures going up and down, there’s going to be a lot of thawing, there’s supposed to be some rain expected and temperatures going back down and even snow expected again possibly later in the weekend into next week so motorist need to be careful and plan ahead,” Trooper Pierce says.

He says allowing plenty of travel time, driving more slowly and remaining patient, gives everyone a greater chance of making it to their destinations safely.
