New Peoria Chamber president talks group’s future

The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s new leader met with reporters Tuesday to talk about his vision for the group. Jeffery Griffin is moving to Peoria from Wooster, Ohio where he worked for Edward Jones. Before that, he served as the President of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce.  Griffin says he wants to help small businesses. He says many entrepreneurs across the country need to fill out many documents from cities and counties:

“A, The stack should be smaller so it’s more easily accomplished. And B, we need to have one person guiding them through the process. We’ve all been on those telephone calls where you press one, then press three then press four and you’re just in this maze.”

Griffin has been on the job in Peoria for about a week. He says he’s also working with Chamber officials to craft the next strategic plan in the coming months.
