Peoria County launching new business website, minority contractor focus

Peoria County is launching a new website this spring to help business owners get assistance.  Greater Peoria SourceLink launches this spring.  The website will be GPSourceLink.org and cost $20,000 a year to run.  Mark Rothert is Assistant Peoria County Administrator for Economic Development. He says the goal is to help new and established business owners get up and running:

“So you would go to the site, plugin your information into resource navigator tool, and it will then output for you all the resources that will fit your needs, whether its business plan development, financing, site location. It will tell you what resources are in your area that fit your needs.”

The website was formally announced during the annual State of the County Address Wednesday. The County is also launching a minority contractor pilot program.  Rothert says the County is going through vendors to set-up a program that identifies obstacles and solutions to helping minority contractors expand.
