A Tazewell County community is getting a nearly five-thousand dollar grant to make its Fire Protection District safer. Peoria Congressman Aaron Schock announced the Green Valley all-volunteer fire department is receiving the funding. It will be used to recruit new volunteer firefighters. The money comes from the Department of Homeland Security.
