Peoria County Board replaces ROE superintendent

The Peoria County Board last week unanimously approved a permanent replacement for its long-time Regional Office of Education Superintendent.

Gerry Brookhart quietly retired from the position last month after serving decades in the role.  The Board approved Assistant Superintendent Beth Crider as the new head of the organization that administers state and federal grants for schools in the region.

The remainder of Brookhart’s term expires this year.
