Congressman Schock to attend Mandela memorial service

Peoria Congressman Aaron Schock is leading the congressional delegation traveling to South Africa to attend memorial services for Nelson Mandela. The delegation will join other elected officials and the South African people as they honor the life of President Mandela. Schock says he’s humbled to be leading his colleagues in tribute to the former South African President. He says he’s always had great respect for Mandela and the sacrifices he made for the people for South Africa.

Mandela died Thursday at the age of 95. His memorial services are tomorrow in Johannesburg at FNB Stadium. The ceremony is expected to draw numerous world leaders, and more than fill the 95,000 capacity stadium.
