PHA receives HUD grant

The Peoria Housing Authority is receiving a federal grant to continue serving its senior residents. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the PHA a 246-thousand dollar grant for the second time. The money will be dispersed over three years, and allows the authority to fund its Supportive Services Program for residents 62 and older.

The program helps residents sign up for various benefits, and offers monthly community building trips, wellness clinics on site, and life skills training. The program mostly serves residents at Sterling Towers.
