Peoria to name intersection after Ray LaHood

The City of Peoria is naming the Main and Monroe Street intersection after one of its most notable residents. The naming will honor former U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood next week.

The intersection will be known as the Honorary Secretary Ray LaHood Roadway. The roads meet in front of the federal courthouse.  That’s where LaHood’s 18th District congressional office was for 14 years before he served as Transportation Secretary
