District 150 is using a program to better track its high-school students after graduation. The School Board approved using the National Student Clearinghouse tracking service. District 150 spokesman Chris Coplan says the program allows the district to track whether its graduates went to a two or four-year college:
“How long they’ve attended that college, whether they’ve dropped out or completed a degree program. Really get a gauge of where students are at and what kind of success they’re seeing after school. So it’s really going to be a good feedback tool for us, not only to report to our board and community, but also to see the success rate of our students,” Coplan says.
Coplan says the student tracking program also will help the district gauge the success of its programs that help prepare students for higher education. He says the tracking service also allows the district to look at the college paths of students who previously graduated District 150 high schools.
