The number of people flying in and out of the Peoria International Airport hit a record for July. More than 54-thousand passengers used the facility last month. That beats the old record set in July 2012 by about 70 people.
Airport Director Gene Olson says July is the sixth month out of the last 12 that has set a record for passengers. He says overall passenger traffic for the year is up more than three-and-a-half percent compared to the same period last year. Olson says both business and leisure travel are up.
