Summer cooling assistance available for certain Peoria residents

The Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity wants eligible residents to apply for a summer cooling program tomorrow.  The state has funds to help eligible households stay cool amid high summer temperatures.
Households with senior citizens, children under the age of five, persons with disabilities and people with medical conditions requiring cooling are encouraged to apply. Applicants must also meet monthly income guidelines depending on the number of people per home.  Applications must be made in-person at the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PCCEO Office on West McBean Street.
