Peoria County hires new IT director

Peoria County has hired a new technology director after nearly two years without filling the post. County Administrator Lori Curtis Luther says Mark Little will start work August 12th.

Little runs I.T. services at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. His annual salary at the County will be $130,000. Former I.T. Director Russell Haupert left in the fall of 2011. Luther says the County temporarily held the I.T. director position open for part of the year to help save money.

The County Board also approved tougher penalties for owners of threatening or harmful dogs. The changes increase fines for dogs that cause serious injury or death. They also create a new “Reckless Dog Owner” category for owners whose animals commit three or more violations over a three year period.
