The City of Peoria’s Public Works Department will host a meeting Wednesday regarding the reconstruction of University Street.The project will affect the section of University Street between Nebraska and Forest Hill Avenues. The current design will get rid of the center turn lane through the segment. This will allow the street to stay within Public Right-of-Way limits and provide wider sidewalks.Design ideas, proposed cross-sections and construction timelines will be discussed at the meeting followed by a Question and Answer session.The meeting will be held at University United Methodist Church at 6:00 p.m.
