Area counties getting money for bridge projects

Fulton, Marshall, Mason and Peoria Counties are getting more than $580,000 dollars for bridge projects.
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says the projects are meant to improve bridges in the area as well as employ several construction workers.
Some projects include washing four bridges over the Illinois River and deck sealing on various structures. State Senator Darin LaHood says the improvements will also lengthen the lifespan of the bridges.
These initiatives are part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program. It is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history and one of the largest in the nation.
