The Peoria County Sheriff is hoping to retain the position in the next election. Mike McCoy says he’s running for the seat for the fourth time. He was originally appointed as Chief in 2002 after the death of Chuck Schofield. McCoy officially announces his intentions at a campaign fundraising event this evening at Weaver Ridge Golf Club.
