Peoria's March unemployment rate rises

The Peoria area has the third largest not seasonally adjusted March unemployment rates in the state. Eight point nine percent of the regional population reported being unemployed. Not seasonally adjusted data is a comparison of the same month the previous year. The rate increased nearly one percent compared to last March.

It identifies those who are out of work and looking for work. The area has 1,700 fewer jobs this March than it did last year.
