Dress for Success Peoria helps 2,000th client

Dress for Success Peoria is celebrating its two-thousandth client preparing to find employment.  The non-profit group helps women by providing professional attire and a network support to help them find a job.  Sarah Fletcher is the Director of Dress for Success Peoria.  She says the milestone is significant:

“Some affiliates suit 2,000 clients in two to three years.  We were affiliated in 199 and began suiting clients in 2000. We’ve grown each year to serve over 300 women a year,” Fletcher says.

Fletcher says the Peoria-affiliate is one of two Dress For Success programs in the state.  She says women are referred by employment programs and social service agencies.  Fletcher says they can then get a week’s worth of professional clothing from the program upon finding a job. Dress for Success is also graduating 10 women from it’s Financial Literacy program Tuesday.
