Proctor Hospital transitioning services to OSF HealthCare

OSF HealthCare System is taking over eight medical sites from Proctor Hospital.  Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano reports:

In a letter obtained by WCBU, Proctor CEO Paul Macek says the hospital is facing serious financial challenges.  Macek says Proctor cannot maintain its primary care services due to low Medicare reimbursement and changes with health care reform.  He says the Proctor Board decided to transition its five First Care Centers and three primary physician sites to O-S-F Healthcare.  Macek says OSF’s immediate plans include maintaining the Proctor sites in transition.  It’s unclear when the official transition from Proctor to OSF HealthCare will take place.
