The Penguin Project Presents "Crazy For You" This Weekend

The Penguin Project

This week, we're talking with Andrew Morgan, founder of The Penguin Project, and director of their upcoming production of "Crazy For You."

He reviews the purpose of The Penguin Project - to provide an opportunity for children with special needs to participate in the performing arts. He also talks about this particular show, a musical that weaves together many of George Gershwin's best-known songs.

We also discuss the evolution of The Penguin Project over its 13-year history. Other companies around the country have adopted their model to stage productions in their own communities, and a spinoff project at Illinois Central College will provide an opportunity for older "alums" of the Project this summer.

The Penguin Project presents "Crazy For You" tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon at the East Peoria High School auditorium.
