Carle Health has announced a new leader for the medical group's presence in Greater Peoria.
Jeanette Murray will become president of Carle's West Region beginning in June.
Murray is a registered nurse and vice president of operations for Carle's Peoria market, bringing more than three decades of experience in healthcare operations to the role.
“The work happening across the region is driven by strong teams and a shared commitment to patients,” Murray said in a news release. “My focus will remain on listening, staying close to our teams and making sure we continue delivering the care our communities count on.”
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Matthew Kolb said Murray's track record in the region prime her for the role leading Carle's Peoria service area.
“Her leadership, strong connection to our teams and focus on patient care position her well to step into this role and continue moving the region forward with consistency and focus," he said.
Murray replaces Keith Knepp, who plans to transition to Heartland Health Services in July as the Peoria provider's chief medical officer.
Knepp said Murray is "the right leader for this role.
“She understands our teams, our patients and the work ahead, and I have full confidence in her as she steps into this position," he said.
Carle Health, hubbed in Urbana, serves nearly 2 million people across Central Illinois and western Indiana. The West Region accommodating Greater Peoria includes hospitals in Peoria and Pekin, plus the Trillium Place behavioral health center.
