Most Peoria County government services will be unavailable Friday, with county operations largely closed due to frigid temperatures expected overnight and into Friday.

That includes the Peoria County Courthouse. All court hearings scheduled Friday are postponed. New traffic and criminal division hearing dates will be sent via mail. Individuals scheduled for civil hearings are required to contact their clerk via email to select a new date.

Peoria's city and county health department, Peoria County Regional Office of Education, Peoria County Coroner’s Office, Peoria County Veterans Assistance Commission, Peoria County Highway Department offices, and Peoria County Election Commission will be closed to the public.

Most public-facing jail operations, including on-site visiting services, sex offender registrations and the main lobby will also be closed Friday. The bonding lobby will be open.

Peoria County Animal Protection Services will remain open.
