The lines for emergency calls in Tazewell County’s 911 dispatch center are back in service after being down for several hours Thursday.
According to an afternoon post on the dispatch center's Facebook page, all of the county's 911 lines were "fixed and active" shortly before 2:30 p.m.
An initial post in the morning said 911 calls were being routed to Peoria County, where dispatchers were either taking information or transferring calls back to Tazewell.
Officials said the issue was "out of our control."
Residents still were able to call the Tazewell County emergency dispatch directly on any non-emergency police lines or 1-309-346-3132 and 1-309-346-4141.
