Police are investigating the shooting of a woman Sunday in north Peoria as a homicide.
Peoria police responded to a call of a person shot in the 1400 block of West Candlelight Court. That roadway runs through the Grove Apartments.
Officers found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said the victim was 37-year-old Latrista Warfield of Peoria.
Police on Sunday evening arrested Derrick Hall Sr., 45, in connection with the woman's death. He is being held in the Peoria County Jail.
