The operators of the Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria nursing home plan to shutter the facility.

The St. Louis-based organization says the facility on Centennial Drive will close in early March. Saxony Court Senior Living closes in early April, it is also operated by Accolade Healthcare.

In a statement, Accolade Director of Marketing Nicole McIntosh says the organization is working with government agencies to find spots at regional senior living facilities for the residents displaced by the closure.

The number of seniors affected is not provided in the statement. There is also no information on the number of staff impacted, though Accolade is providing “transition support” to sister facilities.

“The closure is due to the massive size of the campus and the resulting financial constraints,” McIntosh writes. “Ultimately, the property owner decided to sell the property, and new ownership will not be operating the location as senior housing.”

Tazewell County property tax records list the owner as Paradox East Peoria Property, LLC. Paradox purchased the property in 2018. There’s no record yet of a sale in the property’s recent history.

Accolade Healthcare also operates senior living locations in Peoria, Danville and Pontiac.
