Peoria was largely spared by a major snowstorm that swept across the country Sunday and Monday morning.
The storm brought snow accumulations of less than 2 inches to the city. The heaviest snowfall tracked south of Peoria, with Sangamon County seeing some of the highest totals.
Arterial streets are in good condition in the city, according to Peoria Public Works. Snow plow drivers are still operating on around-the-clock shifts Monday morning. Some residential streets are partially snow-covered, and slick spots are possible.
Refreezes and blowing snow still present possible hazards Monday.
