Watch: On Saturday and Sunday, watch a performance of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at the Central Illinois Ballet Black Box Theater. A collaboration between MIOpera and the Central Illinois Ballet, this performance will take you on a journey of love, betrayal and destiny. Saturday’s show begins at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s begins at 3 p.m. Tickets for the show cost $40.
Cheer: The Cricket Association of Peoria will play the Bradley Bulls this Sunday for the Premier League Finals. Root for your favorite team or learn about a sport growing in popularity across the United States. The finals start at noon at Leslie Rutherford Park. Snacks and tea will be provided.
Eat: Enjoy a taste of Italy Sunday at the Summer Festa Picnic. The annual event hosted by the Italian American Society features Italian food, drinks and traditional dance, as well as a bocce-ball tournament. Kids can enjoy face painting, an inflatable slide and a spaghetti-eating contest. The event goes from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets cost $3. Kids under 12 are free.
