Peoria man sentenced to 15 years in prison for gunfire incident that led to fatal car crash

A Peoria man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday for a 2023 shooting that led to a fatal car crash.

Demetrius Drummond, 35, was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Authorities say Drummond fired a gun in the air in the early hours of Oct. 28 after he got into an argument at a party on Peoria's East Bluff.

Kobe Johnson, 24, was struck and hit by a car during the ensuing panic.
