At least two people — including a 9-month-old child — were injured in a spate of gun violence overnight that saw an estimated 105 gunshots fired at locations throughout Peoria and West Peoria.

Peoria police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of 26 rounds fire in the 1700 block of West Ligonier just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. No victims or suspects were immediately found, but an empty AR-15 magazine was found at Ligonier and Grinnell.

The infant injured by shattered glass in the incident was later taken to a hospital. The baby was in a vehicle struck by gunfire in the 1800 block of South Griswold. The baby's injuries are non life-threatening.

At 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of 38 rounds fired in the 800 block of West Thrush. An adult man shot multiple times inside his residence was taken by private vehicle to a hospital. His injuries were described as serious by police. Multiple shell casings were found outside the house.

Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins said 41 shots were fired in 2609 and 2611 blocks of West Laura in West Peoria. A vehicle also was struck. Nobody was injured in those incidents. Watkins said multiple guns were used in that shooting.

It's unclear if any of the shootings are related. No arrests are reported in connection with any of the shootings. Watkins said authorities are actively investigating.
