4 adults displaced, 2 animals killed after Saturday house fire in Peoria

Two animals are dead and four people displaced after a house fire Saturday afternoon in Peoria.

According to the Peoria Fire Department, officials responded to a report of a fire in the 1800 block of South Arago Street just after 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Eleven cats and one dog were safely retrieved from the home and all were given to PCAPS. One cat and one dog died in the fire.

Four adults are displaced and receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. No residents or firefighters reported injuries.

A fire investigator ruled the fire accidental. The estimated damage to the home is $20,000.
