Out and About in Greater Peoria: Easter celebration, dancing and DIY candles

Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of March 29 through March 31, 2024, curated by WCBU's Meagan Ruger-Smith. You can find more coverage on our Out & About - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WCBU's Weekend Fanfare email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

Easter celebration: Saturday will be Carver’s annual EGG-stravaganza! Bring your families, grab your easter baskets and get ready for an indoor and outdoor event celebration. This family fun day will include craft stations, face painting, a resource fair, treats and pictures with the Easter bunny.

Break out your best dance moves: Join Cafe Santa Rosa for a sizzling night of rhythm and fun at their Tropical Dance Extravaganza!  Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to have a blast, immerse yourself in the vibrant beats of the tropics as the dance floor is transformed into a paradise of joy and excitement. There is cover charge and full bar available for those 21+.

DIY Candles: Kick off your Sunday afternoon with candle-making! In this workshop, I Sincerely Wish Candles will teach you how to custom design your very own soy-wax candles! You'll make your own Tye Dye Candle in a signature container, design a fragrance and experience an in-depth overview of the candle making process.
