An off-duty deputy of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence while operating his marked squad car.

According to Sheriff Chris Watkins, 26-year-old Jacob Marion was in a single-vehicle crash around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 5400 block of Farmington Road. Illinois State Police troopers responding to the scene arrested Marion for driving under the influence and booked him into the Peoria County Jail.

Watkins said Marion is on administrative leave amid an internal investigation. Marion started with the sheriff’s office in 2019.
