Peoria’s city manager just received a raise.

At Tuesday evening’s city council meeting, council members unanimously voted to increase City Manager Patrick Urich’s base salary by $6,412, or three percent of his current salary. That pay raise also included a lump sum longevity bonus of $5,000.

His new salary is $220,149. The raise is based on his achievements and performance as the city manager in 2023.

Council member Chuck Grayeb took time to praise Urich before motioning the vote.

“This manager has never been one who has been pushing for a pay hike,” Grayeb said about Urich. “I can remember when at one time he was sharing his pay increase with department heads, and that no longer exists, but he’s worked very hard.”

Urich’s raise is retroactive as of Jan. 1.
