Three dead in Saturday Mossville car crash

Three people have died and one person has minor injuries following a car crash in Mossville Saturday afternoon.

The three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 6 around 2:30 p.m. According to the Illinois State Police, one of the vehicles failed to stop at a red light and hit the other two vehicles.

97 year old Charles Mundy of Chillicothe has been identified as the driver of the vehicle which failed to stop at the red light. He was pronounced dead at OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said 72 year old Victor Snodgrass and 71 year old Norma Snodgrass of Chillicothe were also killed in the crash.

A 29-year-old man from Wenona who was in the third car sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation by Illinois State Police.
