Out and About in Greater Peoria: Free concert, murder mystery and Slow Down Sunday Brunch

Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Jan. 19 through Jan. 21, 2024, curated by WCBU's Meagan Ruger-Smith. You can find more coverage on our Out & About - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WCBU's Weekend Fanfare email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

Free concert at the library: The Chillicothe Public Library is hosting Jaerv & The OK Factor tomorrow at 2 p.m. for their first fee concert of 2024. This award-winning Swedish folk quintet will appear in concert with their Minneapolis-based collaborators, string duo The OK Factor.

The bands’ unique instrumentation and sensitive musical interplay creates a palpable joy. Through a respect for musical tradition paired with the desire to expand its boundaries, they encourage their audiences to follow them not just back in time, but into the future.

A whodunit in Pekin: Tomorrow, join Vino's Winery for Gone with the Wine: A Murder Mystery Dinner. This promises to be a party to die for… for at least one guest! This audience-interactive murder mystery will create an evening of conspiracy, mystery and drama. This show takes place inside the Zeller Banquet Center in Pekin. There is food and a cash bar available.

Slow Down Sunday Brunch: On Sunday, Pour Bros. Craft Taproom will be hosting Slow Down BBQ for another Slow Down Sunday Brunch. You will use the QR code ordering system for delicious brunch items delivered straight to your table!

There will be featured drink specials provided by Pour Bros. crafted to compliment the extensive brunch menu. With so many delicious reasons to join them, you won’t want to miss this tasty and satisfying Sunday Funday in Peoria Heights!
