Stark County state's attorney appointed to fill judicial vacancy

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

The Stark County state's attorney will fill a vacancy on the bench in the 10th Judicial Circuit.

Illinois Supreme Court justice Lisa Holder White is appointing Caroline Borden Campion as a circuit court judge to fill Bruce Fehrenbacher's seat. Fehrenbacher died last November.

Borden Campion's appointment expires in December, but it's likely she will be unopposed in the November general election race for a full term since no other candidates have filed for the March primary.

The 10th Judicial Circuit includes Peoria, Tazewell, Stark, Marshall and Putnam counties.
