Peoria man sentenced to 80 years in prison for 2018 murder

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

A Peoria man was sentenced to 80 years in prison Thursday for the 2018 murder of Daryl Keller in south Peoria.

Lionell Harris, 31, will be required to serve 100% of the sentence. Harris has a lengthy previous criminal record, and was already serving a seven year sentence for being a felon in possession with a firearm when he was charged with the murder in 2020.

Keller was shot several times at close range, including twice in the back.
