Officers uninjured after shots fired in their direction in South Peoria

A police car's lights, which are on. The text "WCBU Police and Fire" are laid on top of that photo.

Law enforcement officials say someone shot a gun in their direction Thursday night.

Peoria police officers and a Peoria County deputy were checking out a ShotSpotter alert near the intersection of Griswold and West Ann around 8 p.m. when they heard more gunfire near them.

No officers were injured. Shell casings were found in the 900 block of Oregon, but no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Peoria police.
