Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman has identified the two people killed in an early Saturday morning crash on Interstate 74.

Ruestman says 23-year-old Leishani Gonzalez of Normal and Brian Griffin, 28, of Bloomington, were standing on the roadway after a previous two-vehicle crash when they were struck by a third vehicle that didn't stop in time to avoid the collision.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the third vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gonzalez was a producer at Peoria NBC/ABC affiliate WEEK-TV.

Tim was the News Director at WCBU Peoria Public Radio. He left the station in 2025.
