A Morton man faces criminal sexual abuse charges in connection with the alleged assault of a woman last week in East Peoria.

Jason Ernst, a detective sergeant with the East Peoria Police Department, said the woman reported last Thursday she was assaulted in the 100 block of Shoshone Drive after giving 20-year-old Ezekiel Metcalfe a ride. He was described as a door-to-door salesman for a solar company.

The police department received a tip Monday after putting out a call for more information on social media.

Metcalfe was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Tazewell County Jail.
