East Peoria pedestrian killed in Friday crash identified

Authorities have identified a man who died last Friday after he was struck by a vehicle in East Peoria.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 57-year-old Anthony Whaley died after he was struck in the 1700 block of East Washington Street just after 11:30 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead on arrival to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Harwood says Whaley suffered multiple blunt force injuries and died instantly.

The East Peoria Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
