Former city councilman from Stark County sentenced to 35 years in prison on child pornography charges

A former Toulon city councilman was sentenced this week to 35 years in federal prison for producing, distributing, and possessing child pornography.

Jason Musselman, 35, was charged in January 2022 after officials seized evidence from his house and electronic devices. Prosecutors say Musselman secretly filmed minors using a tanning bed in his house from 2010 to 2013. He also distributed child pornography images online, authorities say.

Musselman must also pay more than $60,000 in restitution to his victims, and register as a sex offender when he is released.
