Man in critical condition after he was struck in head by brick

A 14-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday in Peoria for aggravated assault after a man was struck in the head with a brick.

The man found at Garden and Ligonier around 6:45 p.m. suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Police say the victim was arguing with the teenager when he was struck with the brick. The 14-year-old fled the scene on foot, but was found shortly afterwards at a house in the 2500 block of Malone.

The teen was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
